A female pedestrian has died after she was hit by a car at Mitcham, west of Melbourne.
The woman was hit when the driver of a vehicle travelling on Mitcham Road turned right into Brunswick Road about 6.20pm (AEST) on Tuesday, police said.
The victim, aged in her 60s, died at the scene.
The driver, a woman believed to be in her 30s, is assisting police with their inquiries.
Police are urging witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Victoria’s road toll stands at 126, compared to 134 this time last year.
