TEHRAN, July 10 (Shana) – Deputy Chairman of Parliament’s Energy Affairs Committee Hossein Amiri Khamkani said on Sunday that a working group has been formed at the parliament to look into causes of a raging blaze in the the 2001C storage tank and the paraxylene tower of Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Plant on Wednesday.
Khamkami told Shana that since the incident is of national concern, the parliament’s Energy Affairs Committee will go into the issue and a working group has been assigned to launch a field investigation into it in consultation with Ministry of Petroleum.
He said no sabotage operation had been at work and the fire has not been the first fire incident in history of Iranian petrochemical industry and it is hoped that no such events will be repeated in the future either.
He thanked all those involved in putting off the fire.
