MINING magnate Clive Palmer has accused the Greens of treason, saying they are being funded by the CIA in an effort to destroy Australia’s coal industry.
Mr Palmer alleged the Greens were being funded by the US Rockefeller Foundation, which he described as “a conduit of CIA funding”.
“The Greens and everything they say … (are) a tool of the US Government and Rockefeller,” he said.
The outspoken billionaire said the US wanted to wreck Australia’s coal industry to boost its own.
Mr Palmer said the Greens candidates in this weekend’s Queensland election “should resign if they’re being funded by an offshore political power”.
“It’s tantamount to treason and something needs to be done about it,” he said.
Greens leader Bob Brown said the accusations were absolute “stupidity”.
He said Mr Palmer seemed to believe the allegations, which was very concerning.
