Mining billionaire Clive Palmer is still tossing up which federal seat he’ll go after for Liberal National Party preselection.
Mr Palmer recently abandoned his plan to run against Treasurer Wayne Swan in his Brisbane seat of Lilley.
He now has his sights on two seats – Fairfax on the Sunshine Coast, and Kennedy, held by the popular north Queensland MP Bob Katter.
“I’m only considering standing for Fairfax or Kennedy,” Mr Palmer said on Tuesday.
He said he wants to be a good backbencher and has no other burning political ambitions.
He denied he is being indecisive.
“Normally what people do is nominate for two or three seats … if not successful in one they run for another area,” he said.
