Protesters on Tuesday called for the cancellation of any negotiations with Tel Aviv.
The demonstration was held to protest the Abbas’s announcement that Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz, a former Israeli defense minister, would visit Ramallah in an effort to restart talks.
However the meeting planned for last Sunday has been postponed and a new date has not been set.
Mofaz, the head of the centrist Kadima party, joined the coalition led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last month, and he has been calling for a meeting with Abbas since then.
The protesters say Mofaz is responsible for crimes against Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Palestinians frequently hold protests in Ramallah to denounce the PA policies toward Israel.
Talks between the Palestinians and Israelis stalled in September 2010 after Israel declined to renew a 10-month freeze on its illegal settlement construction in the occupied West Bank.
The international community regards all the Israeli settlements across the West Bank as illegal under international law.
