Hosting a huge gathering in the eastern city of Lahore in Punjab, Shia leaders called on the people to unite and show their strength as one strong unit against the miscreants.
According to the leaders, the US is working towards inflaming sectarian violence and destabilizing the country.
“We [Shia Muslims] are the people who want a strong Pakistan, who have in the past in the country stood with the people of Pakistan against the West. That is the only reason why the US wants to spread sectarian violence to create internal conflicts. But we will never allow that to happen,” Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, the secretary general of the Shia community told Press TV.
The leaders also emphasized on the unity amongst Muslims and urged the people to stand together as one force.
Along with the gathering, hundreds of people rallied in the city, denouncing the killing of Shia Muslims across the country and demanding justice.
Militants have targeted Shia Muslim gatherings in different parts of Pakistan over the past three years.
Hundreds of Shia Muslims have also been killed in various parts of the violence-hit country over the past few months.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Shia leaders have called on the government to form a judicial commission to investigate the crime.
The recent surge in attacks against Pakistani Shia civilians has caused international outrage, with many rights groups and regional countries, including Iran, condemning the attacks and expressing deep concern over attempts to target unarmed Shia civilians.
