The strikes occurred in different areas of Upper Orakzai tribal region near the Afghan border that is home to Taliban and Al-Qaeda strongholds.
During the aerial attacks Pakistani military aircraft also destroyed four militant hideouts.
“More than 10 militants were killed and four hideouts were destroyed when Pakistani jets shelled rebel positions in Zakhtan, Dabori and Ghiljo areas,” a paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) official said on Sunday.
Sources say the death toll could increase, since the Upper Orakzai tribal region is off-limits to journalists.
The Pakistani military has launched a series of offensives against militants in the country’s semiautonomous tribal region in the past few years.
Despite the Pakistani government’s operations against Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants and associated groups, they have still been able to spread their influence in various regions of the country and have killed thousands of people.
Thousands of Pakistanis have lost their lives in bombings and other militant attacks since 2001 when Pakistan entered an alliance with the US on the so-called war against terrorism, according to local media.
Since late 2009, there has been a surge in militant attacks in Pakistan.
Thousands more have been displaced by the wave of violence and militancy sweeping across the country.
