FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda The leaders of some 40 political and religious parties formed an alliance following a deadly US airstrike last November which claimed the lives of two dozen Pakistani soldiers.
“Pakistan is important to them [the US] because they want to demolish our economy, make us bend. They want to snatch away our nuclear capabilities. They want to erase the Islamic spirit from the hearts of the people of Pakistan,” retired Pakistan Army officers Lt.-Gen. Hamid Gul said
Leaders at the meeting also accused India and the US of being involved in a conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan’s Balochistan Province.
Earlier, a Pakistani parliamentary committee demanded an apology from the US for the attack, calling it a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.
In response to the deadly airstrike, Pakistan stopped the supply convoys destined for US-led forces in Afghanistan. Islamabad also called on the US to vacate an airbase in Balochistan Province.
The gathering comes days after a meeting between high-ranking Pakistani officials, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Amy Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant-General Ahmed Shuja Pasha and Premier Yousuf Raza Gilani along with his senior ministers.
The meeting was held to discuss channels to normalize the relations with US-led forces in Afghanistan and restore NATO supply routes through Pakistani territories.
Relations between Islamabad and Washington have significantly deteriorated in the past year over US drone strikes in the northwestern tribal belt of the country.
