The Brush Creek Art Walk comes to the Country Club Plaza, Friday Sept. 13 to 15. This is the second annual art competition on the walk ways around Brush Creek. Brush Creek will be divided into four zones, painters will be in the zones from sunrise to sunset. Prizes will be given for each of the four zones. The painters will have three days to finish the paintings they will be creating on-site.
The Plug Projects will feature a September Critique Night on Thursday Sept. 12. The works of Miki Baird, Gehry Kohler and Jessica Borousky will be featured. The Plug Projects is located at 1613 Genessee.
The Zona Rosa Art Festival will be held Friday Sept. 13 through Sunday Sept. 15 at the Zona Rosa Shopping District. Patrons can enjoy local artists, dance, theatrical performances, music, food and drink. Entertainment will include; Casi Joy, Switch (Cover Rock Band), The Rockin Rob Show among others.
Harmonies of the Homefront is featured at the National World War I museum, 100 W. 26, through October 24.
All Souls Gallery located inside the Unitarian Universalist Church at 4501 Walnut will feature the works of Sue Story. The exhibit closes Sept. 18.
“Alter Egos” will be featured at the Buttonwood Art Space located at 3013 Main. The exhibit closes Sept. 27.
Corey Antis will be the featured painter and sculptor at the Gladstone Community Center located at 6901 N. Holmes. The exhibit will run through Sept. 24.
The Greenlease Gallery will present: “L’Hourloupe” a group exhibition at the gallery located inside the Rockhurst University Campus at 54th and Troost. The exhibit runs through Oct. 12.
Images Art Gallery will feature the works of Jilli Nel, Peggy Pike and Luke Letorneau at the gallery located at 7320 W. 80th in Overland Park, Kan. The exhibit will close Sept. 14.
The Keller Art Gallery at 734 Southwest Blvd. in Kansas City, Kan. will feature the works of Steve Wilson. Steve works with mixed media, photography and acrylics. He will be on display indefinitely at the new gallery.
Kemper East will present “Nomads: Traveling Adolescence” at the gallery located at 200 E. 44th Street. The exhibit closes on Nov. 15.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art will hold a special presentation of sculpture, “Fauno Rosso (The Red Satyr), through Sept. 29. The works are on loan from the city of Rome. The museum is located at 4525 Oak in Kansas City, Mo.
“Madwomen?” by Sybil Paris Noble will be featured at the Writers Place at 3607 Pennsylvania. The exhibit will run through Oct. 4.
