PA takes Israel’s deadly attacks to UN

Riyad Mansour, the PA envoy, called upon the world body to “act with urgency to address this crisis” after he sent the letter of complaint to the UN secretary general, Security Council president and the General Assembly president on Monday.

According to the letter filed by Riyad, the airstrikes have also injured 100 other Palestinians. In addition, the letter described the Israel’s bombardment of a school in the impoverished Gaza Strip as a blatant violation against international law.

Mansour also said that the PA had since September 2000, sent 420 letters of complaints to the UN regarding Israel’s violations.

Meanwhile, Iran, Turkey, China, Jordan as well as the Arab League have condemned the Israeli attacks that began on Friday.

This is while Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the attacks on the besieged Gaza “as long as necessary.”

Israeli warplanes and ground forces have frequently attacked Gaza since the end of the 22-day war on the territory in 2009. Most victims of the raids are civilians, including women and children.
