But she alleges that she has been left emotionally damaged and unable to work
after the boxer stopped her leaving her room while he dressed up in her
clothes and took drugs. He has previously admitted dressing up in women’s
clothing after taking drugs.
De La Hoya won 10 world titles in six different weight classes before his
retirement in 2009, earning an estimated $700 million (£450 mn) from
pay-to-view television.
His lawyer, Judd Burstein, told the court: “There has never been a more
frivolous case. I’m embarrassed to have to argue this case.”
