SEOUL — The young North Korean leader’s “reign of terror” and continued purges of ranking officials have given rise to “anti-Kim Jong-Un sentimentâ€� among North Korea’s ruling elite members, a South Korean government official said.
North Korean military officers and senior officials are increasingly fearful after a key People’s Army leader was purged just for expressing his concerns about leader Kim Jong-Un’s instruction, according to the key official who monitors North Korea.
Byun In-Sun, a four-star general at the General Staff of the People’s Army, was purged in January for “raising an objection” to Kim Jong-Un, the official said.
The official did not disclose what the objection was, but another source well versed in North Korea developments said Byun questioned Kim’s order to replace some military officers involved in arms imports from China.
