Days of Palestine, New York –American protesters took to New York streets on Friday, calling for the release of the Palestinian hunger-striker inside Israeli occupation jails.
Despite low temperature and a warning of a heavy snowstorm, NY protesters gathered, calling for the release of the Palestinian journalist Mohamed Al-Qeq.
The protest came as Al-Qeq, 33, correspondent of the Saudi Al-Majd TV, almost completed two months on hunger strike. He is protesting against his administrative detention by Israeli occupation.
Meanwhile, the protesters also called for the end of G4S‘s complicity in the Israeli imprisonment, torture and oppression of Palestinians.
NY protests weekly outside the New York headquarters of G4S, the British-Danish security multinational company, which provides security systems and control rooms to Israeli prisons, checkpoints and police training centers.
G4S places its equipment at the heart of the “matrix of control” that governs Palestinian lives under occupation and apartheid.
Hundreds of organisations around the world, following calls from Palestinian rganisations, have urged a boycott of G4S, and especially urged the United Nations to stop doing business with the corporation.
