A NSW man will face court after allegedly attacking a man with an axe and wounding him in his stomach, hip, leg and hand.
A 59-year-old man was assailed with an axe during a domestic dispute at a house in Molong, about 35km northwest of Orange, on Wednesday night, police said.
But when officers were called to the home about 4.45am today (AEDT) they discovered the injured man had already driven himself to a local hospital.
The victim, who suffered wounds to his stomach, hip, leg and hand, was later transferred to Orange Base Hospital.
Meanwhile, the alleged attacker was arrested on Thursday morning at the scene and has since been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He appeared in Orange Local Court earlier today and was refused bail to reappear on January 9, 2012.
