A man has been charged with raping his three-year-old daughter in the NSW Hunter.
Officers from the Child Abuse Squad were called in after doctors found the girl had a sexually transmitted infection.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon and subsequently charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 16, police said.
He was refused bail and will appear in the Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday.
