NSW police will investigate two truck operators for speed limit tampering, after they were clocked exceeding the limit by more than 20km/h.
Officers patrolling the Hume Highway in the NSW Southern Highlands early on Friday morning caught two drivers allegedly exceeding the 100km/h limit near Gunning.
The first B-double truck was spotted at 1.10am (AEST) travelling south at 124km/h.
Officers then noticed another B-double 25 minutes later going 129km/h.
Police said they would inspect both trucks within a week to determine if their speed limiting devices were tampered with.
The drivers were both fined $463.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Superintendent Stuart Smith said a small minority of heavy vehicle drivers were continuing to flout the law, despite recent crackdowns.
