NSA’s ‘XKeyscore’ Program- ‘Covers Nearly Everything a Typical User Does on the Internet’

Edward Snowden has recently leaked to The Guardian, possibly the most important information on NSA spying yet- the NSA program ‘XKeyscore’, which appears to be the largest and primary program, used to record most people’s internet activity.

The program XKeyscore has search engine type features that allows an NSA data analyst to track people by their names, IP addresses, telephone numbers, and nearly any identifying phrase or code. The analyst is met with a dialogue box on their computers when mining for data, containing a box to type in the ‘justification’ for searching, and the time period for which the analyst would like to search.

They could search emails, Facebook messages, Facebook posts, nearly anything. “Interesting” data can be held for up to 5 years, and 20+ terabytes a day of data can be stored in just one of the NSA ‘sites’, and that’s just what we know. Not only that, but the NSA is trying to build a new facility to hold more data than ever, in Utah- a facility that is 7 times larger then The Pentagon.

This will get much worse, absolutely unbearably worse, unless we stop it now. We need to stop this before it is too late; that is the unfortunate truth. Not only does this effect Americans, but people all over the globe can be targeted, from Europe, to Australia, to South America, to parts of Asia, and the Middle East.

This is an extensive and very incomprehensibly dangerous breach of some of the most sacred privacy, if you talk about real stuff on Facebook, or go to websites you wouldn’t like others to know about, or even if you are an average person. In 2012, allegedly at least 41 Billion total records were collected and stored in XKeyscore for a single 30 day period.

NSA training manuals themselves say that XKeyscore is the widest reaching system in the world for gaining internet intelligence. In other words, it is the most extensive system for mining data to be used against the citizens, by the elitists who control these ‘alphabet soup’ government agencies. Not only can data be recorded, but an analyst can even monitor and intercept a person’s internet activity as they surf, in real time, exactly as they type. So how would you feel if you knew many people in little NSA rooms with high tech equipment were watching you type, perhaps looking through your webcam, seeing exactly what you are doing as you do it, at any time?

Edward Snowden says “It’s very rare to be questioned on our searches”. Therefore, there is quite a good chance that NSA analysts could read messages for fun, perhaps personal messages between you and your partner. How would it make you feel if you knew a man was looking through your webcam, watching you get dressed, ladies? Or if they saw what you did on webcam, and stored that away in a data facility for however long they want? What if they even took it home on a flash drive, a video file of what you thought no one would ever see?

I don’t mean to disgust you, i simply mean to inform you that the malicious possibilities of this program are ridiculous and endless, so we must demand it is stopped. At this point, the crimes of government and ridiculously painful breaches of our rights and privacy are so deep and intense, it seems the only solution is to abolish the federal government to some degree, impeach people, truly take some drastic (peaceful) action to restore our rights. We probably need to abolish these agencies of government who quite literally have declared war on us, the citizens.

Please share this article with someone who needs to know this information, even if you go out of your way to do so, it is the only way to restore our rights and put a stop to this- it is now every citizen’s duty to spend time awakening people, spreading the word, and leading a conscious resistance of people who will give us strength in numbers. Strength to put the government on notice, and let them know it is time they step down.
