Nothing must stop Iran-KSA ties: Larijani

“Certain disparities may exist between Iran and Saudi Arabia, but this should not make a difference. Thus, nothing should hinder amiable relations between the two countries,” Larijani said in an address to a conference on economy and Hajj in Tehran on Thursday.

The Iranian Majlis speaker also called on Saudi officials to pay heed to the demands of their people.

He further said Mecca serves as a unifying point for Muslims around the world and any potential disagreements that might arise must therefore be swiftly resolved.

Larijani’s remarks came after Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced on July 1 that Saudi Arabia had stopped issuing visas for Iranian pilgrims.
