North Carolina Officer Arrested For Raping Prisoner

A North Carolina Sheriff’s office Detention employee has been arrested for raping a female prisoner. Officer David Adams Jr. was transporting the female prisoner from the Lee County Jail to Raleigh. Once the woman arrived, she reported the sexual assault to the Raleigh Police Department.

David Adams Jr., 55, is charged with one count of second-dree sexual offence and one count of sexual offence by a person of authority (applies to offenses committed by a person having custody of a victim).

Adams was arrested in Sanford on Saturday and is being held at the Wake County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 21.

Numerous studies have shown that police officers are more likely to commit violence and sexual assault against woman and children. In fact, some studies suggest that you are 4 times more likely to be the victim of domestic abuse if you’re married to a cop. Children are also more likely to be abuse.
