nkara, July 16, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador to Ankara Mohammad Ebrahim Taherianfard announced that none of the Iranians in Turkey has been hurt in the Friday military coup attempt in that country.
‘We ask our fellow countrymen not to go out of their residences,’ the diplomat said.
A number of Iranians are now in Turkish airports and hotels, said the ambassador, adding they will be returned home as soon as flights are resumed.
The ambassador predicted that the current insecure situation in Turkey would not last long.
Iran has been keeping in touch with Turkish officials at the highest level, he said, advising the Iranian passengers not to travel to Turkey by land.
