Liberal National Party leader Campbell Newman is expected back on the election trail in southeast Queensland on Monday after officially launching his campaign in Brisbane.
Mr Newman’s announced a new inquiry into the state’s child protection system and a “two strikes” policy for repeat sex offenders during the official launch at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Sunday.
Queensland Labor treasurer Andrew Fraser dismissed Mr Newman’s election promises, saying they have not been properly costed.
But the LNP’s treasury spokesman Tim Nicholls promised that full costings and the savings package details will be released before the March 24 election.
Premier Anna Bligh has remained tight-lipped about her movements on Monday.
