There was a major hitch when this happy couple got married – the groom was banned by a court from contacting the bride.

Tricia Young, 47, and Jeremy Houlston, 41, tied the knot in a register office at Rhyl, North Wales, on December 17.

But after 13 days of marriage the couple were split when police knocked at their door to enforce a restraining order prohibiting contact by him.

Imposed in September after the groom assaulted his bride-to-be, the restraining order was lifted today.

Now Mrs Houlston will visit her new husband in Altcourse prison, Liverpool, where he is serving time.

Prosecutor Diane Williams said he had been recalled to jail for another matter.

After the magistrates agreed to remove the restraining order, Mr Houlston, of Bodelwyddan, near Rhyl, pleaded guilty to breaching it by being in his wife’s company.

He was jailed for a fortnight but it will run concurrently to his current period of imprisonment.

The prosecutor said police had been informed after an anonymous tip to the probation service that the restraining order was being breached.

‘At the time of the imposition it was clear the complainant wished for the order to be imposed,’ she said. The couple’s application for it to end wasn’t opposed.

Mrs Houlston, her arm in a sling after an accident, told the court: ‘It was me who approached Jeremy because I still have really strong feelings for him.

‘He kept saying, “you shouldn’t be near me” and I said, “I still want to see you because I’m still in love with you and want to marry you.”‘

She said: ‘We had no contact for at least a month then I decided to get a taxi to where he lived. I was living in Tywyn in Gwynedd, which is 75 miles away.’

She knocked on his door and demanded to see him. ‘We started seeing each other again. He’s been brilliant ever since.’

The couple then met twice a week.

‘We would spend the night together,’ she said.

‘I just want him home so we can get on with our life together.’

Her husband told the court, from the secure dock, he felt ‘shocked and happy’ when she turned up at his door. ‘I just wanted to be with her. I feel happy with her. I cry every night.’

He may be released from jail in June. ‘I will not hurt her again. I’m not like that,’ he claimed.

His solicitor said there was a £65 fine and £50 compensation awarded for the original offence.

Mrs Houlston said she no longer wanted compensation payments.

Outside court Mrs Houlston said she had known her new husband since last May after meeting him on a dating website. ‘He had a friend who brought him down to my house. It was love at first sight.

She paid for the wedding, attended by family and friends, and they plan to go away to Portugal on their honeymoon.

She said: ‘I’m really glad I can visit him there now. I miss him. I cry, I’m so lonely. I just want him there by my side.’

For Christmas he had bought her boots, a ring and perfume and she got him underwear.

Mrs Houlston added: ‘It’s my third marriage and hopefully third-time lucky. We spent a happy Christmas together. I was very upset when he was arrested – I felt my life had ended.’

Defence solicitor Elen Parry said: ‘They genuinely like and love each other. It’s unusual circumstances.’

I despair, I really do.

True love

Real stormy romance..

So he beats her, she goes as far as a restraining order, gets away from him, then goes back to him because she lives him. He of course will beat her again, then what, waste more police and court time before she changes her mind again. She is a murder waiting to happen, but I guarantee it’ll be everyone else’s fault but her own when it happens

And the bride wore a tiara and a fetching grey cardi…

I’d rather be doing time at her majesty’s pleasure than being married to that gargoyle.

Omg ….. 40s … Is that age or IQ?

Gutted I wasn’t invited to the wedding of the year :,-(

They are from North Wales. You have to be a bit barking to live there. Good subject for Kyle I would think.

Dregs of the earth!
