New study shows benefit to vitamin D supplementation in seniors
Private MD Labs – High doses of vitamin D may help older adults avoid experiencing fractures, according to a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The findings suggest that seniors may want to consider blood testing to determine if they could benefit from boosting their vitamin D levels. In the study, researchers from Tufts University analyzed the findings of 11 previously published investigations. Other studies of this nature have failed to show a correlation between vitamin D supplementation and improved bone health. Read article
