As the energies of the new lunar cycle rise up again, we are called once again toward the deepest truth of our existence on earth. Beginning with yesterday’s New Moon in Sagittarius, yet another new pathway of change is unfolding, helping us to shift into new paths of human experience and exploration. This time, we are experiencing a powerful need for freedom which, in turn, is bringing deep feelings of frustration and restriction. The tension this creates will ultimately lead us back to desiring and creating change that is essential to our being. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy. Get ready — this month is going to be a most transformative ride!

Let’s take a look at the key astrological alignments affecting our evolution this lunar cycle.

Uranus (in Aries) oppose Jupiter (in Libra) both squaring Pluto and Venus (in Capricorn)

Following the recent transit of Venus through Capricorn and, most importantly, the conjunction Venus made to Pluto, the stage is now set for yet another shift in perspective — specifically, another change in the way we emotionally relate to our reality.

With Pluto still evolving our emotional reality and reshaping our perspective of life itself, the recent transit of Venus (evolutionary needs) has brought about a crystallization of our core values and needs — a necessary understanding going forward. Emotionally speaking we are being called to look inward for our sense of security and stability, and shown through experience that, if we if we place our security in external situations, we remain controlled by dynamics that are out of alignment with what is really natural and authentic for us.

With Uranus in Aries still in retrograde motion, we are still working out the finer details around what freedom means for us, and in many ways, the combination of this current alignment — Uranus (Aries), and Jupiter (Libra), and Pluto and Venus (Capricorn) — is bringing great tension. The tension is forcing the issue, bringing us experiences that challenge and confront our sense of personal sovereignty and freedom, and forcing us to integrate the understanding that, in order to find or experience true freedom, we have to look closely at the structures we interact with and the security patterns we choose to externalize. True freedom — living by our own natural, authentic beat — is found within us, and cannot be granted by consensus or a detached external authority. However, the challenge presented to us by this alignment is to experience and integrate the push-and-pull between freedom and authority, sovereignty and structure, liberty and limitation.

Neptune and the South Node (in Pisces) oppose North Node (in Virgo) both squaring Saturn, the Sun and the Moon (in Sagittarius)

Sagittarius as an archetype reflects the way we emotionally connect to, and understand, the universe in a greater context. It relates to our relationship to natural law and the pursuit of higher wisdom and understanding; the journey of learning to experience this world through our inner version of what we see to be true and not true. With the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius, this set of astrological alignments reflects a very strong awakening in us; a call to validate our own inner visions and truths.

With all the learning we have done through the Shift in recent years, we have reached a point in our evolution where we no longer feel that our inner world must be governed by outer authorities. We are exploring new ways of relating and experiencing personal sovereignty, and learning to detach from the imposed (ie. false) control and supply mechanisms that dominate our society — and the current trine formation between Uranus (Aries) and Saturn (Sagittarius) is amplifying this now for us.

The Uranus/Saturn trine and the beginning of the new lunar cycle brings us an energetic opportunity to experiment with a new level of applicability — applying and grounding what we know and feel into practice, and reality. With the push of inspiration behind us, the dualistic theme of the Uranus oppose Jupiter square Pluto and Venus alignment is further amplified, as we are drawn toward feelings of freedom and simultaneously, resistance to external factors that don’t reflect or honor your inner life.

Here, with the North Node in Virgo, the energy is drawing us to break away from the patterns of the past, and to form new self-reliant emotional habits that foster serenity, security and acceptance in our lives. We are learning to break away from collective ideals, beliefs and controls, and returning to the natural path of the awakened human — the individual path.

New Moon Message — The Only Constant is Change

Do you surrender your truth for the illusion of security?

All structures, societies and institutions in our world are built on the same philosophy — to create a system of constancy within which people feel secure. These structures offer individuals security (safety, resource networks, a status quo) in exchange for their adherence to a framework of rules and laws. But it’s a paradox: True security — the fundamental sense of ease that can never be taken away from us — can only come from within us; from learning to know our Self and embrace our individuality, finding our unique place in the universal flow, and trusting our highest Self to guide us forward. And yet, to embrace individuality is to embrace flow and change, and change naturally leads to us to feel insecure, both in the moment and when we think about our future.

It is that uneasy feeling upon which our acceptance of social structuring depends. The vast majority of those living within the structures of society surrender parts of (or all of) their individuality in exchange for the (controlled) perception of safety in numbers — a reality that goes largely unquestioned. However, despite the best efforts of the society to protect and preserve itself, the fabric of our being (and indeed, of reality!) does not naturally comply with such structures and limits on our existence.

Our natural evolution has brought us to the point in which our man-made structures are in the midst of total transformation. These structures are merely the crystallised remnants of a moment in time — an aspect of consciousness that once was. But our individuality can no longer be contained, and this discord is fracturing the foundations of the structures that we have existed within (the collapse) while feeding the creation of new, innovative, heart-centered ways of being (the Shift). Naturally, new structures are being built on the external projection of our individuality and the collaboration of like minds — not indentured adherence to the collective — and these developments are manifesting themselves all around us, as more and more people around the world choose their inner truth (and countless more at least begin the process of rejecting the old outer one.)

While this process of collapse and rebuilding is inevitable, and ultimately positive, it naturally exposes in us any sense of security in or attachment to these external constants we may still feel, forcing us into an internal process of understanding, healing and transformation.

As we break free from the inherited conditions of our reality and begin to search for the truth of our being, it is easy and may even seem appealing to create new fixed frameworks based on new fixed philosophies — but, in reality, any such framework can only be limiting to our conscious evolution. We are in constant movement, every aspect of consciousness is constantly shifting and changing. The diversity of life that shares this space reflects the totality of consciousness, and no single aspect of consciousness — no doctrine, philosophy, order or leader — can reflect that totality. Nor should they. Your personal truth is your journey, and you are your own best guru / expert / authority /  leader / sage. The outside can merely reflect back to us the truth that we feel within; our inner compass is our only true guide.

Do you know what truth feels like? Being the change changes the being. It doesn’t always feel safe or comfortable, nor is it always convenient — but anything else is an illusion. Are you ready to live it?

Blessings,
Simon & Jennifer
