Muslim Brotherhood: Israel denounces and Britain investigates

Interviewed by Charlie Rose on his PBS weekly, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon blasted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, whom he described as a “prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood”. [1]

President Erdoğan claims to have dropped out of the Brotherhood during his incarceration in 1998; however, since 2011, he appears to have become their political mentor.

Moshe Ya’alon denounced the existence of a Muslim Brotherhood Axis, via London, Istanbul and Doha. He was outraged that Hamas, the Palestinian branch of the Brotherhood, is now taking its orders from Turkey.

For his part, British Prime Minister David Cameron has ordered an investigation into the Brotherhood in the UK. Sir Richard Dearlove, former head of the British secret intelligence service (MI6) and advisor to the Inquiry Commission, described the MB as “essentially a terrorist organization.”

According to The Telegraph, the Commission identified 60 NGOs in the UK linked to the Brotherhood and is scrutinizing all of their activities. The UK does not intend to ban the organization but to restrain certain specific activities [2].

Finally, during a television interview, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi admitted that the Caliph Ibrahim is a former member of the Brotherhood, something he had denied so far.

The Muslim Brotherhood is supported by the White House which tried to put them in power in the Arab world during the “Arab Spring.” One of them, Mehdi K. Alhassani is even a member of the National Security Council of the United States [3].
