However, Boris’s invitation is to help Murdoch reconsider investing in the UK after he indicated that he would act more cautious when deciding to invest in the country following the phone hacking scandal.
“With that aim in mind he’s meeting and will continue to meet a range of business and media executives at or on the margins of Olympic events to further London’s drive for investment that will spur jobs and growth,” said Johnson’s spokesperson.
Reports also said that Johnson has dined with Murdoch last year, a few days before the British police launched an inquiry into the phone hacking scandal.
