FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda According to a Sunday statement by the Press Trust of India news agency (PTI), Mukherjee, 77, received more than half of the electoral college votes.
Mukherjee, a veteran from the ruling Congress party is to be officially sworn in on Wednesday.
The newly elected president easily beat his rival, former lower house speaker P.A. Sangma, who is backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Analysts say that Mukherjee will take more measures in comparison with his predecessors as India is struggling with slow economic growth and a parliamentary deadlock.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is in control of Mukherjee’s role in managing the country’s finances.
In India, the president is chosen by votes from two houses of parliament in the capital New Delhi and state assemblies for a five-year term.
Under the Indian constitution, the president is influential in the process of forming governments, but the prime minister holds most of the executive power.
