A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in research projects on flowers and ornamental plants was signed between the Netherland’s Wageningen University and Research Center and Iran’s National Institute of Ornamental Plants last week.
The agreement seeks to use the Dutch expertise, in addition to the country’s agricultural technologies to give a boost to Iran’s ornamental plant production and exports. Iran’s National Institute of Ornamental Plants, located in Mahallat of Markazi Province, was first established in 1996.
It specializes in plant reproduction and breeding, biotechnology and soil and water research as well as agricultural economic surveys and marketing, IRNA reported.
