A woman with Down Syndrome who was missing for more than two days is dehydrated but otherwise in good health, police say.
Jade Briskey, 31, was found in an abandoned quarry in Brisbane’s southeast shortly before 2.15pm (AEST) on Saturday.
She was about 2km from her home in Estate Place, Holland Park and has been taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police say she was spotted by a man and his children who were riding through bushland off Cavendish Road, Mount Gravatt East.
The man recognised Ms Briskey from media reports of her disappearance, Inspector Owen Elloy said.
It ended an extensive search by police and State Emergency Service volunteers.
“Search crews never gave up hope and we are all very glad to have Jade back safely,” Insp Elloy said in a statement.
“I would also like to thank the public and the media for the tremendous support we received during this time.”
Insp Elloy said it was too early to know how and where Jade spent her time since she went missing.
Ms Briskey disappeared about 9am (AEST) on Thursday when she slipped out of her home.
She was sighted at 7am (AEST) on Friday examining a street sign on Toohey Rd, Tarragindi.
