Millions of Syrians get ready for parliamentary elections
PressTV – More than 7,000 candidates, including 710 women, from the ruling party and 11 other new parties are competing for the 250 seats up for grabs in the parliament. More than 14 million Syrians are eligible to vote in the elections under Syria’s new constitution which was approved in a referendum earlier this year. The new constitution was part of a package of reforms introduced by President Bashar al-Assad. Read article
