Michael Jackon’s mother Katherine reported missing amid family dispute

She told her more than 500,000 Twitter followers: “the same doctor that
testified on behalf of dr murray saying my father was a drug addict (a lie)
is caring for my grandmother… just saying.”

Earlier in the week, the late singer’s brother Jermaine said that Mrs Jackson
was in Arizona recovering from an apparent stroke she suffered several
months ago.

He said: “I want to reassure everyone (inc all sudden medical experts)
that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the orders of a doctor, not
us.”

The situation remained confused with Los Angeles police releasing a statement
Sunday morning saying that she was “reportedly with family members”
but that they were still trying to make contact with her.

Sandra Ribera, a lawyer for Mrs Jackson, said that her grandchildren had been
unable to speak to her for nearly a week. “I’m concerned that she’s not
safe,” she said.

The tweets and counter-tweets laid bare an increasingly bitter struggle within
the family over control of Michael’s estate.

In his will, the “King of Pop” directed that his assets be placed
into a trust and that Mrs Jackson should become the legal guardian of Paris
and her two brothers.

But in the last week several of Jackson’s siblings have claimed that the will
was a forgery and demanded that its executors be sacked.

“Since the passing of Michael, our beloved brother, you have failed to
perform your duties as executors of his estate, but what you have not failed
at is taking advantage of a grieving mother, father and a grieving family,”
they said in a letter, which was signed Janet, Jermaine, Tito, Randy and
Rebbie Jackson.

In the letter they also said that the stress of the battle over Jackson’s
estate had caused their mother to suffer from a small stroke.

The claims prompted Paris to lash out at her uncle Randy, again on Twitter.

“I am going to clarify right now that what has been said about my
grandmother is a rumor and nothing has happened, she is completely fine,”
she tweeted on Wednesday.

She later deleted the tweet and apologised for her “foolish retaliation”.
