American pop diva Mariah Carey announced on Twitter that she will be cancelling her upcoming concert in Brussels due to safety concerns that have arisen since the recent terror attacks

Posting an announcement to Twitter on Friday (March 25), the pop diva wrote she would not perform at the Forest National arena on Sunday, as had been planned, “for the safety of my fans, my band, crew and everyone involved with the tour.”
I love my fans in Brussels and at this time I am being advised to cancel my show for the safety of my fans, my band, crew and everyone…

Since Tuesday’s attacks, police have been working to take down alleged ISIS cells related to the attacks, arresting at least nine potential suspects.
Billboard has reached out to Carey’s rep for further comment.
In contrast, when The Paris terror attacks occurred in November, 2015, Carey’s pop-rival Madonna stood out among such peers as U2 and Foo Fighters, who also cancelled shows due to safety concerns, for going on with her show.
The “Queen of Pop” made a powerful speech at her concert just one night after the Paris attacks. In that speech, she said:
“It’s been really hard actually to get through the show, because in many ways, I feel torn. Like, why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones? However, that is exactly what these people want us to do. They want to shut us up. They want to silence us. And we won’t let them,”
