A Gold Coast teenager accused of using her car to run down her boyfriend after an argument over a pet dog has been committed to stand trial for murder.
Brydee May Collins, 19, appeared in Southport Magistrates Court today by video link from prison.
She was committed to stand trial for murdering David Eldridge, 21, who was on crutches with a broken leg at the time.
The alleged incident happened outside Mr Eldridge’s parents’ home at Alberton in Logan city, south of Brisbane, on July 14 following an argument over a pet terrier.
No application for bail was made in court today and no plea was entered.
Collins will stand trial in Brisbane Supreme Court at a date to be fixed and Magistrate Terry Duroux remanded her in custody.
A charge of drink driving and one of driving while disqualified were adjourned for mention to April 19, 2012, in Southport Magistrates Court.
