Man stabbed in Melbourne street hold-up

A 36-year-old man suffered cuts to his face and chest after he was robbed by two men in Melbourne’s east.

Police say the robbery took place on the corner of Elgar and Station streets, Surrey Hills at 6.10pm (AEDT) on Tuesday.

The offenders demanded cash and during the street robbery the victim was slashed with a knife.

He is in The Alfred hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
