Man stabbed in chest after house party

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was stabbed in the chest outside a house party in northern NSW.

Emergency services were called to the house at Emmaville, near Glen Innes, shortly before midnight on Friday and found the 21-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest.

Police said the man was stabbed when he got into an argument with another man shortly after leaving a nearby house party.

He was taken to John Hunter Hospital at Newcastle, where he remains in a critical condition.

A 32-year-old man was charged over the stabbing and he was refused bail to appear before Armidale Bail Court on Sunday.
