A man has died and five people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Mount Cotton, southeast of Brisbane.
Police said two cars collided on Mount Cotton Road about 3pm.
The Department of Community Safety said a man died at the scene and a woman who was travelling in the same vehicle was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
“A man, woman and two children who were reportedly travelling inside the other vehicle at the time were transported to Redlands Hospital with minor injuries,” the department said in a statement.
Police have closed Mount Cotton Road between Woodlands Road and Double Jump Road, with motorists being diverted to West Mount Cotton Road.
A police spokesman said he did not yet have information about whether the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions at the time of the crash.
The cause will be investigated.
