Man dies after Broome stabbing

A 32-year-old man has been fatally stabbed during a fight in Broome after celebrating Christmas Eve with friends at a nightclub.

Police said the man had been at the Bungalow Bar nightclub and was walking alone on Dampier Terrace when he got into a fight with a group of people at about 2am (WST) on Sunday.

The group broke up after the fight, leaving the man injured on the ground where he was later found by a female friend, police said.

The 32-year-old man, from South Hedland in the Pilbara, was taken to hospital by a St John Ambulance officer but died a short time later.

Major Crime Squad officers have gone to Broome to assist in the investigation into the death.
