Police from the Santiago task force are investigating the shooting of a man in Melbourne’s north yesterday.
The man, who’s yet to be formally identified, was undergoing emergency surgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital last night after he was discovered in a critical condition with a gun shot wound to the leg in Broadmeadows at about 2.30pm (AEST).
The special task force was set up to examine the criminal activities of a range of groups, including several Lebanese families allegedly involved in drugs, arms dealings and other crimes.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
