A man has been left with a critical head injury after being bashed by two men outside a hotel in Sydney’s north.
The three men became involved in an altercation outside a hotel near the intersection of The Corso and Darley Road, Manly at about 1am (AEST) on Sunday, police said.
A 23-year-old man from Queenscliff fell to the ground and hit his head after allegedly being assaulted by a 26-year-old Manly man and a 28-year-old Queensland man.
Police who were patrolling the area, intervened and arrested the two men.
They have been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
They have been refused bail to appear and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court later on Sunday.
The 23-year-old man was initially treated at Manly Hospital for a critical head injury but has since been transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital for surgery where he remains in a critical condition.
