Man charged over median strip stabbing

A Yagoona man will appear in court on Saturday charged with the attempted murder of a man who was found in a bloody mess beside a highway in Bankstown earlier in the week.

The 24-year-old victim was found on the median strip with multiple stab wounds on Thursday. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police alleged that earlier in the evening, the 24-year-old man was chased out of a nearby hotel by two men, onto the median strip, where he was stabbed several times.

Police arrested on Friday afternoon charged a 27-year-old man with cause wound to person with intent to murder, at Bankstown police station.

A search warrant was conducted on the 27-year-old’s house, where 19 rounds of .22 ammunition and other items were allegedly seized.
