Kalgoorlie detectives have charged a 42-year-old man over an assault which has left another man with life threatening injuries.
It is alleged the fight took place yesterday afternoon between the offender and his 45 year-old victim at the Boulder Camp, near Kalgoorlie.
Police say the victim was knocked unconscious and taken to Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital suffering head injuries.
Detective Sergeant Cris Page says the man underwent emergency surgery before being transferred to the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth where he remains in a critical condition
“If his condition deteriorates we will be engaging the services of the major crime squad, who will continue the investigation from Perth and conduct further enquires and ultimately a homicide investigation,” he said.
The 42-year old man appeared in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court today and has been remanded in custody.
