A 24-year-old man has suffered burns to his hands and feet while trying to extinguish a fire in his home in Melbourne’s north early on Thursday.
The fire in the single storey weatherboard home in Reservoir caused approximately $300,000 damage and was brought under control in 30 minutes, a Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman said.
The man was treated for slight burns by Ambulance Victoria paramedics at the scene. Two other occupants of the house evacuated safely from the blaze.
The cause of the fire will be investigated, the MFB spokesman said.
