A MAN is in an induced coma with burns he suffered after splashing fuel inside a house and igniting it during a domestic dispute in Sydney’s south-west last night.
The 55-year-old man was involved in an argument with his 41-year-old female partner at their home on Boundary Road, Chester Hill about 5.30pm.
Police believe the man splashed fuel inside the house and ignited it, and in doing so suffered severe burns to his hand and head.
Both he and the woman managed to get out of the house, which was gutted by fire.
The woman was not hurt during the incident, but was taken to Auburn Hospital suffering from shock.
The man was taken to Liverpool hospital where he was intubated and placed into an induced coma, before being transferred to the burns unit at Concord Hospital.
Police established a crime scene and interviewed a number of witnesses, however are asking anyone who witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
