Dung Nguyen’s body was found by his distraught wife and two teenage children in his Australia Post and Tattslotto agency in Deer Park, in Melbourne’s west about 8.30pm on Tuesday.
The 48-year-old had been stabbed multiple times.
It comes after Mr Nguyen’s older sister, Buyen, broke down in tears at the scene.
“My sister phoned to say my brother’s dead,” she said, adding he was the only boy of four children.
Lilly Huynh, one of Mr Nguyen’s former employees, described him as a father figure.

“I was just devastated; I just didn’t want to believe it was him,” said Ms Huynh, 18. “He’s such a nice guy. I’ve learnt a lot from him.”
She joined local traders and customers in laying flowers at the scene yesterday. She said he was a hard-working, family-oriented man. “He was very generous, he was very happy,” she said.
Police believe the Meadow Heights man, who was stabbed several times, was killed between 6.15 and 8.30pm.
