Lukoil plans to sign a long-term contract on Iran’s oil delivery to its refineries
VIENNA, June 2. /TASS/. Lukoil plans to present a memorandum on development of Iran’s new fields in Tehran in September, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian oil major Lukoil Vagit Alekperov said on Thursday.
“Lukoil has two agreements signed with the National Iranian Oil Company. They provide for investigation of a range of fields. We will receive materials making possible to perform an economic assessment today. This document will be the basis of the memorandum on main principles to be presented in Tehran in September,” Alekperov said.
According to Alekperov, Lukoil plans to sign a long-term contract on Iran’s oil delivery to its refineries.
“We will develop a formula of swap operations and a long-term contract generally for oil supplies to our refineries,” Alekperov said.
The official has also pointed out that Lukoil is interested in trading operations in Iran.
“Lukoil is interested in trading operations (in Iran). This is because we historically were the most active trader in the Caspian Sea territory. We supplied gasoline and kerosene to Iran. Furthermore, we will be a major trading operation in the Persian Gulf region. The minister supported our negotiations processes,” Alekperov said.
