Low morale makes UK women police quit

A recent study conducted by the Independent Police Commission has revealed that four in ten women police officers in England and Wales have considered leaving the British police force due to low morale within the UK policing service.

“We have learnt that morale is a key issue facing our police service today”, said Independent Police Commission chairman Lord Stevens.

“The police service plays a key role in our society and with evidence showing that where morale is high, best performance is attained, it is crucial that we give due consideration to addressing these concerns”, he added.

Furthermore, the findings of the study showed that the UK policing service was in urgent need for reform of pay and conditions.

The results of the survey come after a joint study by Britain’s left-leaning newspaper the Guardian and the London School of Economics showed that a repeat of last summer’s unprecedented unrest in Britain is intensely feared by the British police due to the government’s budget cuts.
