A woman in her early twenties is among two people to have died on NSW roads so far this long weekend.
The woman was travelling along the Sturt Highway in southern NSW in the early hours of Saturday morning (AEST) when the car she was in rolled.
After the crash the male driver, also aged in his 20s, was taken for mandatory blood and urine tests, police said.
He has since been helping officers with their inquiries.
Her death came after a 31-year-old man was killed when his motorbike careered off a road on the Central Coast just before 10pm on Friday.
The man was riding along Pearl Beach Drive at Pearl Beach, when he lost control around a corner, police said.
His bike hit a metal safety railing and he died at the scene.
Meanwhile, 20 people have been charged with drink-driving so far this long weekend under Operation Stay Alert.
Almost 1200 speeding infringements have also been issued.
Operations Commander of Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Superintendent Stuart Smith warned people that police would be showing no mercy to irresponsible drivers.
“(They) need to fully accept the potential danger to themselves and other road users,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Operation stay alert will continue until 11.59pm on Monday.
