FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda In 2001, a Scottish court convicted Abdelbaset al-Megrahi of the Lockerbie bombing, which killed 270 people. All 259 people on board the plane, travelling from London to New York, were killed, with 11 more others on the ground.
However, in 2009, British doctors said cancer-stricken Megrahi had only three months to live and was then released on compassionate grounds.
Megrahi received a hero’s welcome by former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi when he arrived in Libya. Megrahi always denied allegations that he was responsible for the bombing.
In an interview with Scottish investigator George Thomson last year, Megrahi said, “I am an innocent man.”
A spokesperson for the families of the Lockerbie victims said he did not believe that Megrahi was responsible for the bombing as he considered Megrahi’s death to be “deeply regretted,” reported the state-run BBC.
“As someone who attended the trial, I have never taken the view that Megrahi was guilty. Megrahi is the 271st victim of Lockerbie,” said the spokesperson, David Ben-Ayreah.
