IRNA – Life expectancy in Iran is 78.4 for women and 73.8 for men, said the spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Health on Monday.
‘According to the statistics, life expectancy in Iran has increased about 25 years in the past four decades, reaching over 73 from about 54,’ Iraj Harirchi told IRNA.
He said that, four decades ago, Iran’s ranking in life expectancy in the world was between 100 and 110, but it is 63 now.
Harirchi added that healthy life expectancy in Iran is around 65 and 47% of Iranians live more than 70 years.
