TCP : Libya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Dairy arrived in Cairo Saturday where he will meet with government officials to discuss recent development in Libya, Youm7 reported.
Last week, Dairy embarked on a five-day tour to Ethiopia and South Africa where he met with his counterparts and discussed ways to maintain the Skhirat agreement between Libyan factions, and plans to encourage Libyan parties to come over the obstacles facing the formation of the National Unity Government brokered by the UN.
Dairy’s visit to Cairo comes after the United Nations Security Council unanimously gave its backing to the new Libyan unity government agreed to last month and urged all U.N. members to fully support the deal.
The UN resolution urged the new Libyan presidency council to develop plans to form a new government within 30 days, and to make arrangements necessary for the security of the oil-rich country.
On Dec. 26, President Abdel Fatah al Sisi will meet with Prime Minister of Libya’s national unity government Fayez Sarraj and discussed the international and regional issues of mutual concern including the Libya political turmoil and challenges facing the newly-formed Libyan government.
